We've designed this website to meet the Australian Government's web accessibility requirements as established in the Digital Service Standard(Opens in a new tab/window). This includes complying with legislation and standards, including the Disability Discrimination Act (1992)(Opens in a new tab/window) and Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG)(Opens in a new tab/window).

On 2 July 2025, Digital Access at Vision Australia completed an Accessibility Audit and Verification Testing and found our website satisfied all level A and level AA success criteria of WCAG 2.1.

Accessibility features

We designed our website for use on desktops, tablets and mobile devices.

You should be able to:

  • navigate most of the website using a keyboard
  • zoom in up to 500% without the text spilling off the screen
  • rely on there being alternate text for images and transcripts for videos
  • listen to most of the website using a screen reader (including the most recent versions of JAWS, NVDA and VoiceOver).

We aim to provide accessible and inclusive content(Opens in a new tab/window) with a focus on using plain language. Where we can’t use plain language, we will:

Provide supplemental content such as examples or diagrams.

Encourage people to contact us for help understanding the information.

HTML, PDF and other document formats

Where possible, we have provided content in HTML format to make it as accessible as possible.

Our website may contain documents that are not also available in HTML format, we aim to make those documents as accessible as possible.

Documents on our website are provided in a portable document format (PDF) or Microsoft Word document.

If your browser doesn't support opening PDFs, you may need to download a PDF reader to view them. Download free acrobat reader from the Adobe website(Opens in a new tab/window)
