We are responsible for:
- publishing information about regulated entities' performance and their progress against emissions targets set in the New Vehicle Efficiency Standard Act 2024(Opens in a new tab/window)
- ensuring the integrity and security of the NVES Portal (the portal) and the NVES Unit Registry (unit registry)
- sharing data from the portal and unit registry to maintain transparency and facilitate efficient trading between entities.
Access to this information provides regulated entities, industry and the Australian public with information on how the NVES is working.
Performance period reporting
Performance period reporting information we publish each year:
- entity names
- interim emissions values.
2025 performance period results
Highlights include:
- 68% of regulated entities beat their target
- Over 17 million NVES units were generated
- 620,947 NVES covered vehicles
NVES Unit Registry
Unit registry information we publish and keep up-to-date:
- names of entities who hold a unit registry account
- number of NVES units held in each unit registry account
- any suspensions of operation of the unit registry (there haven’t been any suspensions to date)
- any alterations the NVES Regulator makes to unit registry data (there haven’t been any reportable alterations to date).
Compliance and enforcement reporting
There have been no reportable compliance and enforcement matters to date. When a reportable matter arises we will publish:
- compliance information such as methods, timing, and outcomes of monitoring activities and investigations
- adverse publicity orders, non-punitive orders and enforceable undertakings.
Corporate reporting
